  1. Thanks for leaving me digital space to write to. I dropped in on your partners Aotearoa blog and surmized that the tutorials you are required to attend are known as "Lab" (labratory) at UH Manoa. All of your major lecture courses such as History 151 & 152, Psychology 100 are major entry level courses serving about 300 students at one seating. You are then to go to a "Lab" for one on one interfacing with a TA(teaching assistant) to review any missed or unclear points from those "Benny Hinn" style lectures. Although your tutorial sessions sounded familiar to my labs at Manoa, the way your partner on her blog described those tutorials reminded my of LAB. You'd better ask as many questions as you can because exams come from those "Benny Hinn" boring lectures, through those TAs straight to you. Unless the exams are given (proctored) in those 300 student lectures. Pau!

  2. oh uncle, over its different. yes labs or laboratory refers to sciences class back home. here it is known as tutorials, because, it is more hands on assignments then the regular lecture classes. here i would say the biggest lecture class is about 70. so theres a lot of differences here and back home.
